The medical, dental, vision (and more) coverage for the worker. The rates are set by the healthcare providers which then must be approved by the Trustees. The Joint Apprenticeship Training Trust Fund (JATTF) oversees the apprenticeship school and is jointly managed by labor and management. The JATTF apprenticeship program is registered and approved by the state of California and the federal government. This is paid for as part of the Total Package.

A separate and independent entity, the STAR Program provides additional training, certification and re-certification courses for all journeypersons, apprentices, production workers and supervisors. This is a joint program between labor and management. This is paid for as part of the Total Package.

The defined contribution for every hour worked in an amount determined by the craft that goes to an account in the worker’s name and is managed by the provider chosen by the Glaziers Architectural Metal and Glass Workers Pension and IARP Trust Fund. Dues to pay for local, regional and state Building and Construction Trades Councils.  DC16 is one of the 14 affiliated construction crafts. This is paid from the worker’s taxable wages. This is paid from the worker’s taxable wages.

The IUPAT Finishing Trades Institute’s training program develops curriculum for apprentices, journeyperson upgrades, opportunities for certifications and ongoing training, along with trade and product-specific programs that prepare instructors to deliver the most up-to-date training and knowledge at the local level. This is paid for as part of the Total Package.

The Labor Management Partnership (to be renamed FILMP) is a joint labor and Management national fund to promote the industry and keep it on the forefront of innovation and opportunities. It also provides grants to fund local initiatives. This is paid for as part of the Total Package.

The IUPAT Political Action Trust and Political Campaign works to elect local, regional, state and federal labor-friendly policymakers. This is paid from the worker’s taxable wages.

Dues that are used to directly benefit the member and local union in retention, promotion, organizing, sick, disability and dues assistance. This is paid for as part of the Total Package.

The Northern California Glass Management Association represents contractors who are signatory to DC16 and serves to provide benefits to management members including representation at negotiations, education, training, industry promotion and networking. This is paid for as part of the Total Package.

These are dues used to hire, train and run the Organizing program and campaigns at DC16.  This is paid from the worker’s taxable wages.

The collectively-bargained, per-hour wage paid to the worker with income tax withheld by the employer and submitted to the federal government and state IRS on the worker’s behalf. This is paid for as part of the Total Package.

Also known as Market Recovery, this promotes the union’s job targeting programs to provide a level bidding playing field for DC16’s signatory contractors to bid projects that may otherwise go nonunion.  This is paid from the worker’s taxable wages.

A nonprofit labor and management cooperative venture ensuring fair competition through contract compliance. Serves as a watchdog to go after non-union companies infringing on market share that may be underbidding or not following rules to create an even playing field. This only pertains to prevailing wage jobs. This is paid for as part of the Total Package.
