This page provides the required materials to help employers comply with the California Workplace Know Your Rights Act (Labor Code sections 1550–1559).
Employers must provide the Workplace Know Your Rights Notice to all current employees by February 1, 2026, and to new employees upon hire. The notice should also be incorporated into standard onboarding materials.
Employers are required to:
- Distribute the Workplace Know Your Rights Notice to all employees by February 1, 2026 (Download PDF here)
- Provide the notice to new hires at the time of hire
- Give employees the opportunity to designate or update an emergency contact
- Retain an employee acknowledgement confirming receipt of the notice (Download PDF here)

Employers should retain completed acknowledgement forms with employee records.

Recommended Use
For ease of compliance, employers are encouraged to:
