NCAT is bringing members, their teams, and their families together for a day of community service at the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano—a chance to give back to the region where our industry operates, alongside fellow contractors.
Event Details
Date: Saturday, June 6, 2026
Location: Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano, 2370 North Watney Way, Fairfield, CA
Two shifts are available. Volunteers may register for one or both. Space is limited to 20 volunteers per shift.
- Shift 1: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- Shift 2: 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM
What You’ll Do
Volunteers work in the warehouse sorting and boxing food donations and fresh produce. Tasks include checking food quality, sorting by category, and preparing items for distribution. This is hands-on work that involves frequent standing, bending, and some lifting.
What to Know Before You Arrive
- Closed-toed shoes are required. Nametags will be provided at check-in.
- Wear comfortable clothing you can move in. Long pants recommended. The warehouse has no heat or A/C — layers are a good idea.
- Please do not volunteer if you are showing signs of illness.
- No eating, drinking, or gum in the sorting area. Bring a refillable water bottle.
- Masking and disposable gloves are optional.
- Parking is limited. Carpooling is encouraged.
- Arrive no more than 10 minutes before your scheduled shift. Plan to stay for the full shift.
- All volunteers must complete the Food Bank’s Volunteer Waiver and watch the Safety Video before their shift. Links provided in the registration confirmation.
- Volunteers ages 11–15 must be accompanied by a registered adult volunteer in the same shift.
